While our roots were firmly planted in central Pretoria and Lynnwood, the story of our eastward expansion is one of following our "vision family" as the city grew. This chapter of Heath & Wentzel is defined by two major milestones: the opening of our Hazeldean branch and our recent, exciting move to Linton’s Corner.
2007: Planting Seeds in Hazeldean
As Pretoria East began its rapid transformation into a thriving residential hub, we recognized the need for specialized, family-oriented eye care closer to home for the Silver Lakes and surrounds community.
In September 2007, coinciding with the grand opening of Hazeldean Square, Heath & Wentzel established a second practice. For over 16 years, our Hazeldean branch served as a landmark for behavioral optometry and pediatric care in the area. It was here that we truly refined our "Family Vision Care" ethos, growing alongside the children who first visited us for school-readiness eye exams and eventually returned as young adults.
2024: The Big Move to Linton’s Corner
In early 2024, an opportunity arose to elevate our patient experience even further. With the development of the innovative Linton’s Corner—a center designed around convenience, health, and lifestyle—we knew it was the perfect "next-generation" home for our practice.
Why the move? The transition from Hazeldean to Linton’s Corner (located at the intersection of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Lynnwood Road) wasn't just about a new address; it was about creating a space that matches the caliber of our technology and care.
